Celebrating Miracles during National Hospital Week

May 11, 2015

From May 10-16, 2015, we will recognize National Hospital Week, an annual commemoration that celebrates the people, organizations and technologies that make trustworthy, reliable healthcare available in communities nationwide. A healthcare tradition since 1921, National Hospital Week commends the contributions that hospital physicians, nurses, staff, and administrators make in big cities, small towns and rural regions across the United States each day.

This year, the team at Logan Memorial Hospital will unite with the American Hospital Association and 5.6 million healthcare workers from around the county to reflect on our work with a common theme: “Where Miracles Happen Every Day.” Logan Memorial Hospital is delighted to be part of this celebration.

Since 1984, Logan Memorial Hospital has served Logan and the surrounding counties with a singular mission of making communities healthier. Each day, our staff strives to find new ways to achieve this mission by seeking to enhance quality care and patient safety, expanding the services we provide, improving our patients’ experiences, and reaching out to people in need to ensure that they have access to the care they need to be healthy.  We are proud of what we do – both within our hospital walls and outside of them – to contribute to the health and wellbeing of this region.

Delivering quality healthcare close to home is the single most important contribution we make.  However, there are many other ways we make a positive impact on the communities we serve.  Last year, Logan Memorial Hospital paid $769,605 in taxes which helped support our city, county and state.  We are also committed to ensuring the delivery of needed healthcare to all members of the community, regardless of ability to pay.  In 2014, the cost to Logan Memorial Hospital was more than $400,000 to provide these services for those without the ability to pay for their care.  Logan Memorial Hospital is also an active supporter in our community through various sponsorships and donations.  During 2014, we awarded more than 25 organizations with funds along with participating in community events.

No matter the circumstances of your arrival at Logan Memorial Hospital, we are honored to be a part of your life and to have the opportunity to work alongside you and your family in the delivery of your care.  We take the responsibility of being with you during your best and worst times very seriously – as you struggle with chronic illness, as you reach exciting wellness milestones, and as you wish a loved one a final farewell.  While we cannot guarantee that every visit to our facility will result in a miracle, we can promise that our 231 staff members will always work tirelessly for and with you to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The Logan Memorial Hospital team thanks everyone in this community for your support.  We are looking forward to celebrating National Hospital Week with you, and hope you will join us in recognizing the wonderful staff of physicians, nurses and administrators who help ensure the health of this region every day.
